Behind the scenes | Seattle Newborn Photographer

One thing that surprises my clients the most is learning what really goes into the making of their newborn photos. I’m a stickler for doing things the SAFE way because your baby’s well being is more important to me than just “getting the shot”.

I wanted to share one of those instances where I was able to achieve the look I wanted while keeping little Adam comfy and most importantly SAFE! This adorable shot of him laying effortlessly in the basket rings was actually a composite of two shots where his mama was holding onto him the whole time. A little Photoshop magic and Viola!

And now you know ๐Ÿ™‚

This little, or shall I say “big” (weighing in at 9+lbs), Irish Mick was such a sweet and sleepy boy. What fun his parents and I had dressing him up at his newborn session while he snoozed away! I absolutely love it when parents bring meaningful props to their sessions. If you have any kind of handmade blankets, quilts, props or vintage bonnets or hats from your first days PLEASE bring them in! Of course I always have props galore stocked in my Seattle studio, but I always welcome anything you would like to bring that will make your session even more meaningful ๐Ÿ™‚

Prepare to meet the most ENERGETIC mom I have ever known! Already mom to a 3-year-old son and soon to be mom of twin baby boys! She’s up and at ’em by 5am most days, so when I had the CRAZY idea of doing a pre-dawn maternity session with the Univeristy of Washington’s cherry blossoms I knew she was the one to ask! I think it was worth it ๐Ÿ™‚
